DESCRIPTION:Aromanticism is a romantic orientation\, which describes people whose experience of romance is disconnected from normative societal expectations\, often due to experiencing little to no romantic attraction\, or sometimes feeling repulsed by romance or being uninterested in romantic relationships. \nAromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (ASAW) is an annual\, international event meant to spread awareness and acceptance of aromantic spectrum identities and the issues we face\, as well as making more people aware of our existence while celebrating it.

DESCRIPTION:Our Partnership with HRC/Welcoming Schools continues with “National Day of Reading” on February 28\, 2025.  More information on that is coming soon! \nIn 2015\, an anti-LGBTQ+ hate group forced a school in Wisconsin to cancel plans to read “I am Jazz” in support of a transgender student. In response\, more than 600 residents in a town of less than 8\,000 showed up at a public reading organized by a parent to show the students that the community had their back. \nEvery year\, in honor of the Mount Horeb community’s allyship\, communities across the country join ADKNCGA and HRCF’s Welcoming Schools program for its annual National Day of Reading: A Celebration of Trans Stories.
