Welcome to Adirondack North Country Gender Alliance

We are a beacon of support and advocacy for gender diversity and inclusivity in our region. At ANCGA, we’re dedicated to fostering a community where individuals of all gender identities and expressions feel safe, respected, and celebrated.

ANCGA is more than just an organization; we’re a family of allies and individuals committed to championing equality and understanding. Founded on the principles of acceptance and empowerment, we stand firm in our mission to create a world free from discrimination based on gender.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide education, promote awareness, provide resources, and advocate for the rights and well-being of transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals in the Adirondack North Country region. Through education, support, and collaboration, we strive to break down barriers and build bridges of understanding within our community.

John Brown Day 2025

John Brown Day Commemoration

2025 Spirit of John Brown Freedom Award to be presented to Kelly Metzgar!
John Brown Lives! is presenting their 2025 Spirit of John Brown Freedom Award at the annual John Brown Day commemoration, held this year on Saturday, May 10, from 2-4pm, at the John Brown Farm State Historic Site in Lake Placid.

The award is the heart and soul of John Brown Day, a tradition dating back to 1922 that was started by leaders of the Philadelphia Chapter of the NAACP. The Spirit of John Brown Freedom Award was established to honor individuals and organizations whose work invokes the passion and conviction of the 19th-century abolitionist who dedicated his life to the cause of liberation and equality.
